Paul Mon is a contemporary Canadian artist, born in Hong Kong, whose journey bridges structural design and fine art. In 2023, after a 35-year career in architecture and construction, he returned to painting, bringing his eye for structure, space, and light into a new practice.
He first gained recognition for his Icelandic landscape series in oil and acrylic, capturing glaciers and skies with bold palette-knife work. He has since expanded into watercolour — exploring negative painting and edge control — and into portraiture, moving between grand landscapes and more intimate character studies.
A member of the Art Guild of Scarborough, his work has been recognized by local jury panels. Outside the studio, Paul is an avid tennis player.
